Upset In Table Tennis

Avonside II caused a major upset by defeating Hoon Hay in a games decision during the tenth round of the senior table tennis competitions. M. Flewellen and M. Warren scored the deciding matches for Avonside by beating G. R. Saunders and D. Tilson. This loss by Hoon Hay has enabled Linwood to regain the lead on the points table. Wallabies, with one player short, were able to compete in only seven of the. 12 matches against St Johns. Wallabies succeeded in winning all these matches, to beat St Johns 7-5.
