N.P.D. Issues A Denial
(NZ.PA-Keuttr—Copyright) BONN, January 24. The chairman of West Germany’s National Democratic Party (N.P.D), Mr Adolf von Thadden, has denied a report that he had ordered his followers to prepare to go underground. Mr Thadden said the report, which he described as “most shameless,” consisted of “fantastic lies.” “This report, with its slander, is characteristic of the low level of the methods by which the public is misled and the N.P.D. defamed,” a statement issued by the party’s executive committee said. United Press International in a dispatch yesterday, quoted informed sources as saying that a confidential circular had been sent out by the N.P.D. telling local party leaders to make preparations to convert town and district branches into athletic clubs, chess clubs, shooting clubs and stamp collectors’ associations in the event of a Government ban on N.P.D. activities. 1!
