NEW PRESIDENT

Mr G. W. Blaxall was last evening elected president at a special meeting of the committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club. Mr Blaxall succeeds Mr R. W. Saunders, who died earlier in the month. Mr Blaxall became a member of the club in 1940 and was a steward from 1952 until 1962. He was elected to the committee

in 1953 and was elected vice-president in 1965. Mr K. C. Meyers is the club’s new vice-president. He, too, joined the club in 1940. He became a steward in 1960 and was elected to the committee in 1965. Mr J. K. Davidson, the immediate past president, was elected to fill the vacancy on the committee caused by the promotion of Mr Meyers.
