Liddell (Wellington), 6-4, 6-3, and in the boys’ under-15 singles, the seventh seed, T Mooney (Canterbury) was defeated by a Canterbury teammate, D. P. Schroeder, in a hard-hitting match, won by Schroeder, 6-3, 7-5.
