(N Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CAPE TOWN, January 22. The South African surgeon. Professor Christiaan Barnard, said today he thought the heart transplant operation on the American, Mr Mike Kasperak, who died yesterday, had been a success because it proved again that a transplanted heart could withstand post-operative complications. Of his own heart transplant patient, Dr Philip Blaiberg, Professor Barnard said: “He is 100 per cent well.” Mrs Blaiberg said.after her daily visit to' her husband that he had reminded her to arrange insurance on his car. “I don’t drive, so my husband is obviously thinking of getting behind the wheel again,” she commented.
