Strike May Be Over

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, Jan. 22. A meeting of striking postal worker.. late this afternoon decided to defer until tomorrow its decision on a recommendation by the Australian Council of Trade Unions and the Australian Postal Workers’ Union for a return to work. This afternoon’s decision provides for a special meeting of the state executive of the union at 10 a.m. tomorrow to consider the recommendation for resumption of work. In Canberra, the Post-master-General, Mr Alan Hulme, today predicted that it would be two weeks before the nation’s mail services were back to normal. Mr Hulme said it was his understanding that a return to work would come after the last meeting of union members.
