N.Z. Lamb Exports (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, Jan. 22. The Australian Department of Health is conferring with New Zealand Government officials about the air freighting of New Zealand lamb to Australia, it was reported in Canberra tonight Two weeks ago the import of lamb into Australia via Asia was banned by the Department of Health. The reason given was that the lamb was being treated with a chemical not covered by Australian quarantine regulations. The Department of Health is analysing samples of the chemical. A spokesman for the Department of Trade and Industry said tonight his department would be studying the outcome of the talks because of the Australia-New Zealand free trade agreement.
