Falls Outnumber Rises Three To One
Falls outnumbered rises three to one on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. The market weakness especially affected leading stocks in the New Zealand list. The overseas list had two rises, but B.H.P. lost 10c to 1640 c. Trading was light, and the Wellington Stock Exchange closed for Anniversary Day.
N.Z. Petroleum again had t the best rise, selling 8c higher I at 188 c. Autocrat recovered 5c i to 75c, and Hay’s, Kaiapoi ' and Whitcombe and Tombs I all were a little firmer. ( The most notable falls in 1
the New Zealand list were:— Skellerup, 10c to 540 c; New Zealand Paper Mills, 5c to 70c; National Insurance, 4c to 306 c; Alex Harvey, 2c to 265 c; C.F.M. new, 3c to 115 c; 1.C.1.N.Z., 2c to 150 c; N.Z.
Forest Products, 2c to 220 c; New Zealand Insurance, 2c to 250 c; Rothmans, 2c to 177 c; South British Insurance, 2c to 341 c.
