Whitlam To See Lee
(N.Z P A -Reuter—Copyright) SINGAPORE, Jan. 22. The leader of the Australian Labour Party (Mr Gough Whitlam) will have talks next week with the Singapore Prime Minister (Mr Lee Kuan Yew) about the proposed five-nation conference on new defence arrangements for the region after the British troop withdrawals in 1971. Mr Whitlam told reporters this during a brief stop in Singapore this morning on his way to Djakarta from Saigon. He is expected back in Singapore on January 29 for talks with Mr Lee, but in the meantime he is going to Kuala Lumpur for similar talks with Malaysian leaders.
