Market Firmer In Active Trading
Trading was more active, over a wider range, on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday, and the market was full of movement. In the New Zealand list 19 issues rose, and 13 eased.
The rises were larger than the falls. The best gains among New Zealand shares yere: N.Z. Petroleum, 30c to 150 c; Tasman, 15c to 620 c; N.Z. Industrial Gases, 15c to 330 c; N.Z. Insurance, 10c to 260 c; N.Z. Refining, 10c to 485 c; Rex Aviation, 10c to 75c; SkeUerup, 10c to 550 c.
Good gains of Australian stocks were: Bank of N.S.W., 15c to 645 c; Mount Lyell, 35c to 190 c; Myer Emporium, 43c to 478 c. Falls were meinly narrow, but B.H.P. eased 15c to 1620 c; end Dental and Medical sold ex issue for the first time, at 140 c, a loss of 38c.
