STEEL SALES
<N Z.P.A.-Reuter) TOKYO, Dec. 27. Two major Japanese steel mills had initialled contracts for the sale of more than 150,000 tons of cold rolled steel in coil to New Zealand Steel Ltd, for use in manufacturing galvanised iron sheets, the Yawata Iron and Steel Company said today. The volume will be provided by the Nippon Kokan Kaisha (N.K.K.) and Yawata at the ratio of 70 per cent for N.K.K. and 30 per cent for Yawata. New Zealand Steel is expected to begin its new galvanising plant next August. The plant was installed by a group of Japanese firms, including the Daido Steel Company, Yawata said.
