FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —Pressures are high to the southeast of New Zealand and a low pressure area covers the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Buller and Westland.—Light or moderate variable winds; rather cloudy warm weather with some patches of light rain; a few local heavy showers are likely about the high country. Canterbury.—Moderate north-easterlies pre- ! dominating: variable cloud; some showers in the western high country; areas of fog or drizzle about the coast and plains chiefly night and morning; mild. Nelson and Marlborough.—Light or moderate winds from the easterly quarter apart from local sea breezes about the coasts; rather cloudy humid conditions; some scattered showers chiefly in and near the ranges.
