“SNOW BURN” PROBLEMS
“Snow burn” was one of the many problems associated with the freak snowstorm in the high country last month. It was hard on both man and beast

Cows’ udders were affected so that calves were unable to drink, and some runholders, to try to overcome this problem, brought their beef cows in and endeavoured to milk them and to treat their udders. In some cases “the Wild West had nothing on that” Mr D. G. Reynolds, farm advisory officer of the Department of Agriculture at Fairlie, said this week.
