Use Of Woodend Land
Poultry Processors (North Canterbury), Ltd, has applied under the Town and Country Planning Act for permission to have a poultry-processing plant on a two-acre site at Eders Road, Woodend. This would involve a change of use from residential zoning to industrial.
In a report on the application in “The Press” on Wednesday it was said that an application had previously been declined. The application declined, however, was made by another company, North Canterbury Broilers, Ltd, and that by Poultry Processors (North Canterbury), Ltd, is the first it has made. If its application is granted the company plans to alter a garage-workshop on the site to conform to the requirements for processing poultry
