STAKES TRIAL

Le Danois Best

“The Press” Special Service WANGANUI. The Manawatu Challenge Stakes contender, Le Danois, overshadowed other trialists with a record-breaking gallop at Wanganui yesterday. Working on the No. 1 grass against the rails, Le Danois (Mrs Grubb) ran six furlongs in Imin 12 S-ssec, taking 81 l-ssec for the last five and 37 4-ssec for the last three.

Khoranet (Alcock) had the measure of Fair Koral (Mrs Grubb) from the six in Imin 15 4-ssec, the last three in 38 4-ssec.

Fair Koral, a candidate for the President’s Handicap at Awapuni, disappointed in the soft going at Wanganui last week.

Scorn (Belsham) was untroubled to record 51 4-ssec for his last half-mile, the last three taking 38sec. Roley (O’Connor), which will benefit from his President’s Handicap outing, worked from the mile, being clocked over the final three in 39 2-ssec.
