7 Claimed Body

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) REDWOOD CITY (California), Dec. 8.

A coroner, Mr Paul Jensen, disclosed yesterday thai seven widows came forward to claim the body of William George White, aged 43, of San Francisco, a carpenter who was fatally stabbed on November 29.

White died in a fight with a fellow worker on a construction project at Daly City, California. The coroner declined to

release the man’s body or personal property to the seven women who pressed their claim, and Judge W. Howard Hartley decided the case.

He issued a court order releasing White’s body to Mrs Betty Jean White, who established that she was White’s only legal wife.

She described the others as “polygamous wives of the deceased.’’ She said she had been separated from White, but never divorced.
