TASMAN CARGO
11 p.c. Rise Today (N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 3. Trans - Tasman shipping freights will increase 11 per cent from tomorrow because of devaluation of the New Zealand dollar. This was announced by Mr F. K. Macfarlane, chairman and managing director of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Ltd. The effect of the increase will do no more than revert freight revenue in the trade to the level that existed before devaluation.
