INTER-CLUB GOLF
Council Not In Favour <N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The idea of a national inter-club golf competition, suggested by the Wellington Golf Association. was squashed in five minutes at the New Zealand Council meeting yesterday. The council’s belief was that there were sufficient tournaments already, and that players have sufficient commitments as it is. A motion against the scheme was moved by Mr D. O. Whyte, and was approved by all but a very small minority. The New Zealand Open golf championship next year will revert to a three-day tournament. The four-day event was staged for the first time this year. The council decided that the tournament was too drawn out. Subject to approval by the 1968 host club, Christchurch, the dates will be November 28 to 30. “THE PRESS" HAS * team of trained operator, who will be pleased to help or adviaa you on all aspects of CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING For a nominal cost (minimum 3*c>, "THE PRESS" doily readership of more then 70.90 T FAMILIES ensures the right people at the right time, at a price you can afford.
