Beckenham Takes Lead In Suburban Cricket

Beckenham, by gaining an outright win over Merivale have taken the leading position in the Suburban Cricket Association senior grade. At Sumner, Burnside made a gallant attempt to overtake Sumner’s total, only failing by five runs, dismissing Sumner cheaply, with W. Treloar taking seven wickets, Burnside had 90 to score in 44 minutes for the outright win but failed by five runs. Waltham did not look likely to gain a win over Aranui, being dismissed for 122. D. Stspley. who took six wickets, was the best Aranui bowler. Competition point are: Beckenham 23. Sumner 10, Aranui 16, Burnside 15, Waltham 10, Merivale 4.
