MALVERN For the second successive week, all matches In the Malvefn cricket competition were drawn on Saturday. The game between Hororata and South Malvern was curtailed by rain. J. Devonshire made the only score of any significance, 66 not out for Hororata, while the best bowling performance was G. Rldgen’s six for 59 for Greendale. B. Johnston took live for 26 for Darfleld. Points, after the first complete round, are: Darfleld Juniors 41, Sheffield 36, South Malvern 31, Klrwee United 27, Darfield 23, Hororata 22, Greendale 21. Darfield 188 (J. Gunn 46, B. HURUNUI Only one game was played In the eighth round of the Hurunul competition, after United Hawarden was forced to default to Culverden.- At- Waikari, the leading team. Cheviot, went down to the home side, on the first innings. Points: Culverden 50. United Waikari 48, Cheviot 46, United Hawarden 34, Scargill 32. Scores:—

Cheviot 84 (J. Thompson 4/9, G. Dunstar 3/19) and 89/4 (Fowler 39 not out; Dunstar 3/14) lost on the first innings to waikari 103 (I. Pluck 25; Wyllie 4/35, Jones 3/17). ASHLEY The key match in the fifth round of the Ashley competition between the leader, Woodend, and Kalapoi is in an Interesting position. An improved Fernside team scored quickly against Ohoka, and in the Rangiora v. Oxford match points could go to either side. Woodend 235, Kaiapol 32/1. Fernside 261, Ohoka 36/5.
