Awards Earned In School
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. Nine girls at Tamaki College were today presented with Duke of Edinburgh awards.
These were unusual in that the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme—-which in the girls’ course teaches such things as cookery, home nursing, safety in the home and courtesy and customs—has
been integrated into the girls’ vocational course at the college.
At all other schools where it is run, the scheme is an extra-curricula activity.
