Market Easier At Close

The share market continued the easier trend yesterday as New Zealand stock exchanges ceased trading for the week. Over all falls outnumbered rises almost two to one, both lists being easier. Turnovers were heavy, and trading ranged very widely.

Southland Cement reacted to the “don’t sell” warning with a rise of 15c to 75c. Other good rises were by Carter Consolidated and Waitaki Freezing.

There were no outstanding falls in the New Zealand list, but the Australians Ampol, 8.H.P., C.S.R., and E.Z.I. had sharp adjustments.
