Played For Two Nations

ISpectal Crspdt. N.Z PA) SYDNEY. E. Jessep, one of the select band of Rugby players to have played for both New Zealand and Australia, has retired after 21 years as coach of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs club., Jessep announced his retirement saying: “A man knows when he has had enough.” Jessep said his greatest thrill came last August when he went back to New Zealand for the first time in 35 years. A guest of the New Zealand Rugby Union, he paraded on Athletic Park with the great All Black teams before the seventy-fifth anniversary test against the Wallabies. A front row forward, Jessep played for the All Blacks against Australia in 1931 and 1932, and then played for Australia against New Zealand in 1934.
