TRADERS IRATE

Wool Board Under Fire (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH November 29. An indignant Feilding Chamber of Commerce last night abandoned its interest in a proposed “Feilding Wool Week” planned for next April. At the chamber’s annual meeting, members were highly critical of the apparent indifference shown by the Wool Board to the campaign, and decided to dissociate itself from the project. A letter of protest is to be sent to the board deploring its “dilatory attitude and discourtesy.” The chamber, which had planned to sponsor the Wool Week in association with the Feilding Federated Farmers and other interested bodies, rejected a suggestion from the Wool Board that a combined promotion scheme with Palmerston North should be held in August because April was an unsuitable time for promoting wool.
