EXCHANGE RATES
Several more countries have announced new exchange rates, but transactions are still suspended with India, New Caledonia. Philippines, Spain, and Tahiti. The Fijian pound was appreciated by about 6.5 per cent on Monday after having been devalued by 14.3 per cent during the run on sterling a week ago. The revaluation now makes the Fijian pound equivalent to 2.05 New Zealand or Australian dollars or SUS2.3O.
The SNZ eased a little on most currencies, and in many cases the margin between buyers and sellers narrowed. Latest telegraphic transfer rates, as advised by the Bank of New South Wales, are:— All foreign currencies to SNZ Buying Seling
