Australian Swimmers

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. Sydney swimming coaches have approved a short visit by a New South Wales state team to New Zealand in February. The team of six or seven will fly to Christchurch on February 9 to compete against the visiting Canadian team at the New Zealand championships, and will fly back to Australia on the following Sunday. These details were announced by the New South Wales Swimming Association secretary (Mr R. Foat) after the association had sought the views of Sydney coaches on whether the trip would be worth while. In Christchurch, the Australians will clash with a starstudded Canadian side, which will include the world record holder, Elaine Tanner, and top-class Marion Lay.
