More Soviet Warships

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) TEL AVIV, Nov. 29.

A fleet of about 45 Soviet warships capable of firing both conventional and nuclear missiles is now in the Mediterranean, Israeli Government sources said yesterday. They said the estimate did not include such vessels as supply and repair ships, or elusive Soviet submarines known to be operating in the Mediterranean.

The Israeli intelligence reports said there were two or three cruisers of the Sverdlov class there, each with about 1000 men aboard and equipped with anti-aircraft and ship-to-shore missiles.
