VACANCIES—FEMALES PUBLIC HEALTH SISTER. NIUE ISLAND DUTIES: The appointee will be respon sible to the Matron for a gen eral public health nursing pro gramme on the Island. This will include infant, pre-school and child welfare supervision, social welfare work (mainly involving visits to old people’s homes in villages) and follow up of cases referred from hospitals and schools Immigration and other programmes will be carried out as required by the Chief Medi cal Officer The appointee will be required to carry out two nights hospital call duty per week QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife. Preference will be given to an applicant with a Plunket Certificate. SALARY: Salary will be based on the New Zealand Public Health Nurse Scale; a local rate of salary will be paid plus an ad iustment allowance to make up the difference. In addition, a location allowance of $BO p a. is payable and standard New Zealand deductions are made for board. ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation is provided in the European Sister's Home. GENERAL: Appointment will be for a term of fifteen months with full fares paid to and from Niue and two days furlough for each month of service on satisfactory completion of term.
