(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 7.
Female hotel staff are in short supply as the peak of the summer season draws near, but 72 Queensland girls have been recruited to relieve the situation. The Wellington secretary of the Hotel Association of New Zealand (Mrs A. C. Beck) engaged the girls in nine days of interviews in Brisbane last month. Some of the applicants travelled hundreds of miles for interviews.
