TINY’ TOTS’ CITY NEAR LENINGRAD. —The caption supplied with this picture from the Soviet news agency, Novosti, reads: “The buildings of the children’s city of Solnyshko stand in the picturesque surroundings of Leningrad, in a pine forest by the Gulf of Finland. Living in the city are 2000 children of pre-school age. They come for six months or a whole year, the duration depending on the accommodation provided for them. The patrons of the city, some Leningrad enterprises and organisations, have voluntarily undertaken the job of looking after the small children and have equipped the city with various sports grounds, and also presented a great many toys. Very popular with the tots is a pedal-car centre presented to the children by the employees of the State Automobile Inspection Office of Leningrad. Some of the children are seen in the pedal cars at a busy road junction of the centre.”
