Value Increase In October Building statistics of the Christchurch City Council show that the value of building permits for October this year were up about $160,000 compared with those for October last year. But for the seven-month period of this year, compared with the corresponding period last year, the total is less by about slm. Permits issued, with the corresponding period for last year in brackets, were: All Buildings.—October, 300 (335) to a value of $1,475,533 ($1,308,714); seven months, 2230 (2597). Dwellings: October, 38 (43), value $332,874 ($360,354). Flats: October, 9 (19) to a value of $110,968 ($27(0,720); seven months. 69 (131), value $1,128,028 ($1,747,028). Commercial.—October. 18 (21). value $737,130; seven months. 110 (132), value $2,058,362 ($2,858,000).
