Hunters Cut Off By Floods
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, November 6. Three Christchurch hunters will probably spend a miserable three days in rugged country in the Fox River area near Punakaiki. They left rubber mattresses and clothing in a farmer’s woolshed on Friday night.
They will not be able to return until Bullock Creek, which they crossed to reach the farm property, drops to a passable level. It is in high flood, and the owner of the property, Mr W. J. Cairns, of Punakaiki, is also unable to reach it. The men are believed to be trapped by the floodwaters at the head of the Fox River.

The three men, experienced hunters, are Dennis Wilson, of 440 Halswell Road, Wayne Hawker, of 190 McGregors Road, and Derek Bowman, of 219 Eastern Terrace. Their names became known after Mr Cairns informed the police of the registration number of a car parked on his land.
