THANT’S 7th YEAR

The Secretary-General, U Thant, called again today for solution of the Vietnam conflict to open the door for other peace accords—including a Middle East settlement. Assessing the world situation as he entered his seventh year as Secretary-General, U Thant told reporters he considered the Vietnam problem to be mainly responsible for the deterioration of the international situation.
