LOCHORE TO HAVE SPELL

The touring captain, B. J. Lochore, will get his first break since Canada, and in his absence the team will be led by C. E. Meads, with M. A. Herewini as vice-captain, when the All Blacks play West Wales tomorrow’.

This will be the third time in 94 matches that Meads has led an All Black team. The last occasion was at Twickenham on the last tour when he was captain against Combined Services. This will be Meads’s fifth match in seven and almost

certainly he will have achieved his 100 matches for the All Blacks before the end of the tour. The back-line includes three who were in the lineup for the test with Australia in August They are the halfback, S. M. Going, Herewini, and the left-wing, A. G. Steel. Cottrell’s Chance At second five-eighths is the strong-running Canter-1 bury man, W. D. Cottrell, and if he comes off well tomorrow he could well find himself in the team for the Cardiff Arms Park match on Saturday. K. F. Gray, the Wellington prop who has been on the injured list since the first match, will play tomorrow. Another of the All Blacks who will also be playing his first match since the Canadian part of the tour is the young Taranaki flank forward. M. C. Wills. The team to play West Wales is:— G. F.
