Volcano Erupts On Hawaii
(N.Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) HONOLULU, Nov. 6. A volcanic eruption began on the island of Hawaii yesterday—but posed no threat to life or property. The eruption sent fire fountains pumping lava from the floor of the Hale Mau Mau 600 ft deep fire pit at the summit of Kilauea volcano.
Tremendous underground pressures as deep as 30 miles have been building under the crater for three years, and geologists recently predicted that an eruption was imminent.
