Bolshevik Jubilee

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) MOSCOW, Nov. 5. World Communist leaders have ended a two-day jubilee meeting still without agreeing on whether to hold an international Communist conference to work out a new joint programme after the split with China. Observers said this emerged from the gathering in the Kremlin to mark the 50th anniversary of Russia’s November 7 Bolshevik Revolution. Leaders of Communist and Left-wing parties from all over the world attended. The Soviet Communist Partry secretary-general, Mr Leonid Brezhnev, reiterated Russia’s desire for a new conference in his opening speech yesterday, which provoked a walk-out by Chinese diplomats.

During the two days only one favourable reference to China was heard. It came from Dang Tranh Thi, Politburo member of the South Vietnam National Liberation Front, political arm of the Viet Cong. He thanked Russia, China and other Socialist States for their huge aid in the war against the United States.
