Golf Title To Dobson
A 25ft putt by I. D. Dobson gave him a one-hole victory over M. R. Blank in the final of the Christchurch - Golf Clubs championship at Shirley yesterday. At the eighteenth in the second round Dobson was one up, but his tee shot went to the left under the trees. Blank drove down the middle of the fairway and placed a wedge shot to within 3ft of the hole. Dobson then came to within 25ft of the pin and it seemed as though the game would go to an extra hole, but Dobson holed the shot to win, giving him a ■ two-under-par total for the 361 holes. At the end of the first round Dobson had a three-hole lead, but Blank whittled this down with birdies on the tenth, twelfth and thirteenth. Blank’s score for the last nine holes was 33. three under par.
