GARDEN CONTEST
Eight entries were received by the Redwood Beautifying Association for the Redwood Spring Garden competition. Mr and Mrs G. Skevington. 159 Highsted Road, won the Morton Smith Challenge Cup for the best garden. “Maintenance was a generally good standard, as were the trees and shrubs, but more fence coverage would be an advantage in the gardens,” said the judge, Mr D. Glue.
Results were:—Mr and Mrs Skevington, 1; Mr and Mrs E. R. Birdling, 8 Mottram Street, 2: Mr and Mrs G. Chenery, 71 Prestons Road, 3.
