Monterey Race (N.Z.P A -Reuter-—Copyright) MONTEREY, (California). B. R. McLaren (New Zealand) won the 201.7 mile Monterey Grand Prix for sports cars, driving a Mc-Laren-Chevrolet. J. Hall (United States) was second, on e lap behind, G. Follmer (United States) driving a Lola Chevrolet was third, two laps behind. D. Hulme (New Zealand) ran second to McLaren until the eighty-second lap when the engine of his McLaren M.G.A. blew up. Another New Zealander, C. Amon, driving a Ferrari P 4, was fifth.
