RIGHT-HAND TURNS
Colombo St Ban
A prohibition of right-hand turns at three Colombo Street corners—Hereford and High Streets; Cashel Street and Tuam Street—was approved by the City Council ast evening. It will apply to Colombo Street traffic, not traffic on the cross streets. “This will provide benefits to toe Colombo Street motorists and in particular toe Transport Board buses,” toe traffic committee said. “The prohibition may increase turning movements on parallel streets, which would be contrary to toe proposed city development plan which envisages these streets as having greater traffic significance than Colombo Street. These disadvantages will probably be quite minor.
