Pool Plan Supported
More than 100 Lyttelton residents unanimously supported proposals for a public swimming pool at a special meeting last evening. The meeting was called by the Mayor (Mr J. B. Collett) after the convener of a special committee, Cr R. H. Duff, had reported to the Lyttelton Borough Council. At present, Lyttelton has only a small swimming pool at West Lyttelton School. The suggested site for a public pool is in Oxford Street Cr Duff said the pool would cost at least $44,000. It would be 110 ft long and 44ft wide. If funds were raised voluntarily a Golden Kiwi lottery subsidy could probably be obtained. A steering committee was elected to investigate the proposals and report to a meeting on November 27.

Crutchley, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, jit was said that Midtgaard’s body had been found in Lyt[telton Harbour.
