STRIPPED OF RANK
Former Thai Minister (N.Z. P.A. ’Reuter—Copyright) BANGKOK, Oct 13. The Thai Government has stripped a former Agriculture Minister, Lieutenant-General Surachit Charuseni, of his Army rank after his conviction by the Supreme Court for bribery. The Government yesterday also ordered both him and his wife to return all decorations conferred on them by the King. The Supreme Court last month sentenced Surachit to 15 years gaol and his wife and another woman to 10 years for receiving bribes for a rubber plantation concession.
