Rowing Test Trial
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. J. Wilson and A. K. Ward, of the Riverton Club, on Saturday avenged an earlier loss this year to R. Woodbury and J. Muir (Wakatipu) by winning the right to represent New Zealand against Australia in all pair-oared events in the rowing tests later this year. Whakatane, Union (Christchurch), Riverton and Waihopai (Invercargill) rowed in the first heat, and the two place-getters, Riverton and Union, met the national champion, Wakatipu in the final challenge. Results: Heat One. —Riverton (Wilson, Ward) 1, Union (J. LitUe, R. Satherly) 2, Whakatane (W. Cole, C. Hammond) 3. Distances: 2)1, a distance. Time: 8:4.5. Final Challenge.-—Riverton 1, Wakatipu (Muir, Woodbury) 2. Union 3. Distances: 21, 31. Time: 7:56.4.
