Pressure On Bass Claimed

(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Oct. 15. Mr S. J. Snow, of Whangarei, a former president of the North Island Acclimatisation Societies, said today political pressure had outweighed professional advice in the decision to shelve the introduction of large-mouth bass in New Zealand. “But we have to accept it,” Mr Snow said. Some of the greatest opposition to the introduction of bass had come from areas where there were marginal seats, Mr Snow said.
