Attack On Kibbutz
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TEL AVIV, Oct. 15. Arab saboteurs early today blew up the dining hall of a kibbutz near Sheikh Husein bridge—scene of yesterday’s fighting between Jordanian and Israeli forces—after wading the shallow waters of the Jordan overnight. An Army spokesman said explosions set ablaze a vehicle parked near the hall and damaged a power transformer building. There were no casualties.
The Maoz Hayyin kibbutz is situated just over a mile west of the river, some 15 miles south of the Sea of Galillee.
The Army spokesman said four explosive charges went off shortly before 3 a.m. Two more explosives found later were removed. Tracks of the saboteurs were found leading eastwards to the river, the spokesman said.
