Girl Missing; Watch Found
Detectives were called on duty last evening to investigate the disappearance of a girl from her home in Westminster Street. St Albans, on Saturday evening.
One of the girl’s sandals and her watch which had a clasp smashed, were found outside the front door of her home yesterday , morning. The missing girl is Rosemary Eileen Palmer, aged 18, a student at Canterbury Uni-
versity, who is due to sit examinations today. She was last seen at her home about 9 p.m. on Saturday. She was found to be missing when some members of her family returned home at 12.30 a.m. yesterday. A search was made with police dogs of the area around her home yesterday afternoon but no trace was found. Miss Palmer left no word that she was going out. nor did she have any money with her. Inspector M. Churches was in charge of the investigations being made last evening. Detective Senior-Sergeant E. T. Mitten and Detective Sergeants P. J. O'Donovan. J. A. Dawson, D. N. Scott and Constable W. Ramage were also called on duty. Miss Palmer is of slight build, sft sin in height and has fair complexion. She has mid-neck length reddishbrown hair pulled back into two pony tails which are secured by rubber bands. Her eyes are blue. She is believed to he wearing dark blue stretch slacks, a. blue sleeveless blouse and a dark blue cardigan. I
