Undersea Ore
(N.Z.P. A.‘Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO.
Professor Hiroshi Niino, of the Tokyo University of Fisheries, has claimed that various geological specimens and other data which he has obtained from under the sea off the south-west corner of Japan indicate the existence of promising oilfields. He advised the Japanese to start full scale undersea oil exploration. They should start, he said, before the deposits are claimed by Japan's neighbouring nations on the basis of international continental shelf rights.
