The successful applicant will be responsible to the mechanical overseer for maintenance of all diesel plant and engines. Appointee will be required to control subordinate staff and be prepared to carry out trade training of local trainees. He will be required at times to assist in maintenance of vehicles and other workshop duties. Salary: Up to 32020. Annual allowances: 9360 wife. 9116 each child residing in the territory, 8150 secondary school, plus 376 in lieu of social security benefit for any child attending school in New Zealand, 8160 p.a. defered location allowance for a married officer or 880 fi.a. for single officer, payable n a lump sum on satisfactory completion of term, 860 reestablishment grant for an officer plus 840 for wife and 820 for each child is also payable in a lump sum on satisfactory completion of term. Furlough: Furlough is granted at the rate of one month for each year of service. Annual and sick leave is granted on the same basis as in New Zealand except that no annual leave is granted in furlough year. Medical*. Accommodation: A house or flat equipped with heavy furni- ' ture will be available at a rental of up to 8240 p.a. for a married officer. General: The term will be for three years for a married officer and two years for a single officer. Fares to and from Niue will be met subject to satisfactory completion of term.
