LOW LAKE LEVEL.—Lake Hawea, in Central Otago, is low this month. Although the demand on hydro-electric power has been normal, little rain and snow have fallen in the ranges. This view, looking back toward the Hawea township, shows beaches and promontories much more exposed than usual.
