TEST MEN IN TEAM
Match With Ashburton
Ashburton cricket will get * considerable boost tomorrow when the local representative team will meet W. McD. Anderson's invitation eleven. The visiting side has a formidable line-up and includes R. C. Mott, J. C. Alabaster, B. R. Taylor and B. W. Sinclair—all members of this year’s touring New Zealand team. The remainder of Mr Anderson’s team is made up of former New Zealand representatives, and batsmen of the calibre of P. G. Z. Harris, P. T. Barton and S. C. Guillen are capable of giving the crowd exciting cricket. The local team, while probably not capable of beating the visitors, should not be under-rated. It has a particularly strong batting order and should the side bat first, Mr Anderson’s eleven could have a formidable total to chase.
The picturesque Ashburton Oval has a true wicket which favours batsmen who are prepared to go for their shots and, with such a talented group as this playing on it, plenty of runs should result
